Introducing our Healthspan Youth Program (HYP), a comprehensive initiative designed to empower adolescents aged 12-17 with the essential tools for enduring health and well-being. Through a meticulous blend of personalised guidance and structured sessions, our program focuses on individual strengths and areas for growth to cultivate a robust foundation for success. As pioneers in youth development in Sydney, our HYP Program is committed to fostering the holistic development of every participant, ensuring they emerge equipped to navigate the challenges of adolescence and thrive in all aspects of life. Here’s how it works:

Establishing the Blueprint for Success in our initial week

We prioritise program orientation, goal setting, and comprehensive health and fitness assessments. These assessments not only provide our trainers with valuable insights into your youth’s goals and movementpatterns but also serve as a baseline for progress tracking. By understanding where they currently stand,we can collaboratively work towards improvement, fostering a supportive and motivating environment for success.

Emphasising Cardiovascular Fitness

Building on the foundation established in week one, our focus shifts towards understanding cardiovascular fitness and effective use of cardio equipment. Through hands-on instruction and guidance, we teach proper techniques for using cardio machines while emphasising the importance of heart health, endurance, and overall well-being. By helping youths discover enjoyable cardio activities aligned with their interests and goals, we lay the groundwork for a sustainable fitness journey.

Mastering Foundational Movements

During this phase, participants dive into mastering foundational exercises essential for overall strength and stability. Through careful instruction and demonstration, our trainers teach correct techniques for movements such as Squat, Hinge, Push, Pull, and Core. Each movement is broken down and catered to the individual and emphasis is placed on technique and explained so the youths understand ways to prevent injury and ensure effective workouts, empowering youths to build a solid physical foundation for future growth and development.

Personalisation and Progress Tracking

Throughout the program, we prioritise personalisation, recognising that every youth is unique and requires an individualised approach to success. Our trainers work closely with participants, adjusting exercises and intensity levels to suit their abilities and preferences. By fostering open communication and building confidence in expressing needs and preferences, we empower youths to take ownership of their fitness journey.

Celebrating Progress and Planning for the Future

As we approach the end of the program, the final week focuses on reevaluation and reflection. Participants undergo progress assessments to measure how far they’ve come, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for continued growth. This is a time for both trainer and youth to discuss future goals, ensuring that the program remains engaging and tailored to each individual’s evolving needs.

At HYP, we don’t just focus on physical fitness; we prioritise the development of strong characters and confident individuals. Through our supportive community environment, participants build communication skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging, setting them up for success both inside and outside the gym.

As the founder of Healthspan Youth Program, I’ve witnessed firsthand the pitfalls that young individuals can encounter when trying to prioritise their health. Great vibe. Trainers are easy to talk to and suit your workout to your abilities and goals. When Iโ€™m not with a trainer, I appreciate just riding an indoor bike or using the treadmill in a peaceful environment with no crazy loud music. I love this place ☺️💪

My first thought was what have I signed myself up to but when I started losing my first kilos I was very happy. Deb was a great help, always supporting me along the way and my daughter also helped me a lot by preparing my lunches and stopping me from snacking 😁. A great community gym.I never thought Iโ€™d be a gym kind of person - I love the outdoors. But as one gets older, not only is aerobic fitness still important, but balance and strength exercises even more so.Trainer Deb manages all my aches and pains while keeping me fit, strong, healthy and mentally sharp. Healthspan's youth program is great. All the staff are warm and welcoming, and do not judge you on your fitness/abilities, they just want you to improve yourself and make sure you have the right techniques. I would highly recommend this gym.

Trainers are all lovely, friendly and open to questions. Energise appealed to me because it was a safe space for me to go to the gym and lift weights as a beginner in a friendly environment- and that's exactly what I got! I joined Energize express about 3 years ago and it was the best move Iโ€™ve ever made. I was feeling very sluggish & not happy with my weight. The gym has this lovely comfortable vibe, and everyone is part of the gym community you can chat to people if you want or just get on with the job. The trainers are so dedicated in helping you achieve your goals. Each year they have an 8 week challenge & boy does it work as my first year in I won . I lost weight but gained muscle mass I have never looked back I feel fit, fabulous & thru the guidance of my trainer Deb eat a much more balanced diet.
